My daughter had her check up yesterday. Courtney is 13....was diagnosed at 10. She has been having some stomach pains the past few weeks. Had blood work and abdomen ultrasound last week. Doc says that she has "gunk" in her gall bladder. Started her on a new med for it and said it might even help with the weight gain.Question......................................How common is it for CFers to have gall bladder problems? How many have had their gall bladder removed? At what age did you start having trouble with your gall bladder?ThanksSeana

I had my gallbladder removed a few years ago. I was in my 40's. I have heard that it is common to have problems bc of the CF.

I don't know Seana.. I actually was having trouble that I thought was gallbladder related but the pain seems to have gone away..... I was told that sometimes with a gallbladder attack it can come and go. When I posted about it I was told that many Cfers have gallbladder trouble and I think some of them take actigall or something like that.

If you read use the search you should be able to find information on it as I just posted about stomach pain not that long ago... I got great responses.

Hope she feels better,

Jennifer

My girl friend who has CF had to have her gallbladder removed. She was diagnosised when she was thirty. she had it removed when she was 35. She does not have any abdominal syptoms of CF though. Health weight gain and not on any enzymes
