dells aren't always bad andee, they are just known for horrible customer service and they seem to enjoy making the parts on their computers incompatable with any parts except for dell's so if something breaks its a pain in the butt and more expensive but hopefully nothing will break

i've had my dell laptop for almost 5 years now and it still works fine. definitely not as pretty or light as some of the new ones but i've never had a problem with it...other than sometimes crappy customer service its been a great computer for me-i use it for school, download all my pictures and music to it and do stuff on the internet...thats about it. its certainly not fancy and loaded with lots of extra cool stuff but as just a computer to do general stuff on its been great.
