need opinion about visitors while you are sick

i guess i can look at it this way. the people who truely care and love me visit me. i know that ppl dont have to visit me every sticking time i am on ivs because i am sick too much and dont wont to be just another burden to add to other's life.

i dont expect people to visit but deep down inside of me there is a need to be acknowledge that i havent been around at church or school and missed. i just dont want to be a high maintence person and demand that people see me. does that make sense?

I am in and out of the hospital so much, it is hard to tell the difference from being home or in LOL. Honestly, when I am in, it can be very exhausting to get visitors, especially when I am running really high temps and just feeling downright awful. On those days, sometimes I prefer sleeping it off, those closest to me know that and will call before they come. I am of course grateful if they do come out, my hospital is a hour and a half away so for them to take the time to venture all the way out to visit is sweet of them. They won't stay too long if I am feeling bad or exhausted though. When I am in, it is usually for the long haul. Lately my stays have lasted at least 3 weeks, my last one was 5 weeks. I don't expect them to visit every day, weekends were usually when visitors came to see me which was okay by me. I think if no one visited me, I would be bummed out after awhile. It gets lonely pretty quickly being away from my kids and family for so long.

If you don't come see me when I am well, don't come see me in the hosp. though I haven't been in the hosp. in quite a few yrs. since getting my port 9yrs ago. When I am on IV's at home I don't want vistors either, unless they are bringing me a dessert. How do I feel blah, blah, call me first, or send me a email. Doing IV's at home usually 2 meds 3x a day its takes your whole day, it's exhausting. But then again being a little crazy at times I have to say when family doesn't call I get pissed what is my happy medium? Not sure. Pat-55/CF

I don't go in that often; ive only been in like 3 times. But when I am in; my parents are with me a majority of the time, and they switch on and off who stays that night.. my boyfriend will come up for a few hours every or every other night. my brother and sister dont even come up, never have. i think my brother might have come once...but not for long.
it really shows, in my eyes, who cares about me. whether friends come or not, and i dont have many, no more than 5 that i talk to on a daily basis. occasionally ill get the "surprise" visit from someone not even expected, like one time my older cousin came, and brought me a basket of snacks and things to do. i reallllyyy appreciated it a bunch.
when im in, i like geting visitors, gives me a new face to talk to rather than the daily rotation of nurses, even though i like them, since im still in pediatrics
