i can only say my daughter has been on pulmozyme since 3 weeks of age and on the vest since 12months....she is 18 months now and was just hospitalized for her first "major lung issue" (bronchoscopy).... i feel more comfortable with an aggressive approach rather to my daughters treatment, but everyone is different.

In terms of the Vest, I'd go with the #1 CF center in the nation / the man who invented the device....

Vest right away.

Manual CPT is variable - no two CPT sessions are the same. With the Vest, each session is identical and controllable... with the highest quality.

Take care

I'd have to go with the more aggressive/preventative center. The "sutter" reccommendations seem very similar to what we've experienced. Emily has been on Pulmozyme for a long time, probably since she was about a year old. Like Heather's doc, our doc was quick to put her on it after I brought it up. I think that the fact that Sutter is surprised at the low doseage of enzyme is telling, too. They are surprised because they have a higher standard of care, in my opinion.

It's not an easy decision, and you have so many factors to consider. Is it possible for both clinics to give you referrals - families who use them that you can speak frankly to? Can't hurt to ask!

Good luck, and keep us posted.

Without set clinic days, do they still ensure that the whole team sees your child at their appts? This would be important to me.

I agree with the others that I would prefer a more proactive approach to care. The enzyme thing would be a big deal to me too. I wish the very best in your decision-making.
