Its a catch 22 with the symptoms coming later.

Sometimes that gives the impression to parents that they can be lax on care yet at the same time if there are symptoms that early its a sign that the child could be very sick very early (progress quickly).

Of nothing else let me tell you as an older CFer that if I could turn back time & redo what I didnt do with my care because I was "mild" then....I would. I dont know how much of my progression is from not caring for myself in younger years, but no doubt it contributed!

He very well could have a mutation in which he's pancreatic sufficient -- doesn't need enzymes, gains weight okay.
