Thank you for the information! I have read about the mucinex/robitussin as a help, but am unsure of the directions. Do you use it throughout your cycle or just when you are ovulating? I have had two cycles of IUI. Any idea if it helps during IUI?

I don't know specifically if it will help with IUI, I don't see that it would hurt though. Maybe someone else has the answer to this.

Since you are doing IUI, I also HIGHLY recommend the pineapple regimine and accupuncture. Let me know if you are interested in knowing more about these.

I am looking for an accupuncturist, but am unsure of the pineapple regime. Can you fill me in? This information and support has been awesome! Thank you so very much.

Day before, or day of Embryo TRANSFER purchase 1 whole pineapple

Cut pineapple into 5 sections, making sure to include the CORE of the pineapple into these 5 sections. (the core contains the most concentrated amount of pineapple)

On the day of the embryo transfer, about 2-3 hours after the transfer, eat 1 of these 5 sections of pineapple (including the core)

Continue to eat 1 section of pineapple each day (including the core) until you have eaten all 5 sections. The core isn't tasty, I found it pretty blah and not tasty at all...just a warning.

Pineapple contains bromeline which has been shown to help with the attachment of the embryo to the uterine wall. The study was conducted with fresh, whole pineapples (not pre-cut or pineapple juice) and the maximum recommended dose/days was 1 pineapple in 5 days, including the core. (I will try to find you this study, I got the info from my acupuncturist).

Too much pineapple juice can irritate the uterus, so make sure you stick to only 1 pineapple and split it over 5 days.

There are also bromeline pills, I've been asked about these before. The study was only conducted on fresh pineapple so I don't think anyone can attest to the success/assistance of a pill form of bromeline.

I personally did this pineapple regimen and acupuncture (the day of transfer only) and I think that these both contributed greatly to our success.

Best of luck to you and let me know if you have any additional questions!
