This is absolutely right as well. While I believe work needs to continue full-speed ahead on meds that can potentially correct the genetic defects that cause CF, if preventative measures and more effective treatments are not pursued just as much, where would we be if the genetic stuff proves too complex to pan out at this time? All facets of research need to be explored- CF is such a complex disease affecting so many parts of the body.

I have been a non compliant CF person my entire life due to alot of different issues. I had a borderline case of CF. I lived very normally until my 30's. I now have to be compliant and it really sucks! The amount of time spent on trying to stay well is mind boggling! I have so much respect for all the parents and CFer's that do all these treatments everyday. My point is...I think its unacceptable to keep throwing nebulized treatments at us. I am hooked up to this thing 3 hours a day!! Yes, I hope and pray and believe there will be a cure. I enroll in clinical trials because I know that if they can come up with a drug that can make a mans penis hard for 4 hours then they can cure CF!!! I feel crappy and its a struggle. I dont want these poor kids that come behind me to have to live a life like this (and I know I have had it good). So to all the moms that go on the internet and read up on these new drug...I applaud you! The only thing that gets me through is hope.
