I don't see any reason why saffron would be a benefit; even if it was, that would be way too expensive. As for Curcumin, I know there are people on this site who have tried it, but I never followed the research myself, so hopefully one of them will chime in.

As for gaining weight, he might want to talk to his doctor about adjusting his enzyme dose. Or, perhaps his stomach is too acidic which would prevent the enzymes from working properly. In that case, he should ask his doctor about antacid medication. Or, maybe he simply isn't eating enough; what is his diet like?

He has to take different amounts of enzyms depending on how much fat he eats. As greek cooking is with many olive-oil, olives, lamb and other very fat stuff he has to try how much enzyms he needs for different meals. If you take not enough enzyms you get stomach pains.

Hi Stella,

There should be a qualiied CF doc, somewhere in Greece. Maybe in the city, where the major hospitals are.

I live in Australia and have a 2yr old daughter with CF, but my background is Macedonian. Macedonia is a fairly poor country, maybe much worse than Greece.

But, i do know that in the city of Skpoje they have a specialist Cf clinic just for cf'ers.

Maybe try and do a search over the internet or even ask a local doctor for some advice.

Take care
Eli
