They do the same clamshell....but for me, they did small incisions on each side just under the pec. Dr. Sonnet said he looked at my anatomy and decided right then and there to do the smaller cuts. The smaller cuts have allowed me to recover much faster than normal because they didn't cut through my sternum.
Months earlier, at a seminar given by Dr. Sonnet, he talked about the fact that they are trying to do the two smaller incisions as often as possible because of the rapid recovery time.
It truly was icing on the cake. I used to be a professional bodybuilder in my early 20's and there was no one more vain than me. But I honestly wouldn't have cared if I woke up with giant 2 inch thick scars running across my entire body. I can breathe now. In fact I'm going for an "easy" 2 mile run when I'm done typing this message. There's no scar that isn't worth that.
