Jess is alert and holding stable in the ICU. Her surgery ended around 8:30 last night and her parents were able to see her -- they said she was partially awake even then. The goal for today is apparently to get her an epidural for the pain, extubate, and maybe even try sitting up in a chair. Not bad for day 1 post!

Jess is up, sitting in a chair, off the vent and probably going to start walking today. Her mom posted that she had some pain issues and that her mouth was really dry from the vent, but other than that things are going well.

Go, Jess, Go!
