Hi Tami,
Thanks for taking the time to reply and to welcome me. I am so glad to find a fan of Love & Logic on this board! I always have one of their books open, too. One of my fav's is The Pearls of L&L- good bathroom reading ;-). I have been a L&L facilitator for about 5 years now (and using it with our kids for 7) and it is so rewarding to see how it changes lives (including my own!).

Just like you, I needed "tweaking" for applying their tools to medical issues so 3 years ago I wrote them a letter and asked them to do it. Dr. Cline (the co-founder of L&L) responded to me and we have been working together on this ever since. It has been an amazing journey and I am very passionate about it. The book is now done and we are finishing up a DVD program, too. Dr. Charles Fay (CEO of L&L) says our new book is the best one they have cause it explains L&L so clearly with such great examples and stories (many of them around CF and original writings from CF families, too). Plus it has some new teachings in it. I can't wait to get your feedback about it.

Thanks for asking about where to get the book. Folks can read it for free at their public library. Check www.worldcat.org to see if yours is included by entering the book title which is "Parenting Children With Health Issues" by Cline & Greene plus your zip code.
OR it can be purchased at local bookstores OR at amazon.com or BandN.com or Target.com OR directly through Love and Logic (www.loveandlogic.com).

And, Dr. Cline and I just released a free audio download you will be interested in. Go to our website at www.ParentingChildrenWithHealthIssues.com to download it. It's all about how to parent kids with CF (recorded at the CFRI Conference) and discusses the one thing we should never do when our children start to show resistence to their treatments or meds- very important material (and funny- in typical L&L fashion). I can also mail you a CD of it if you prefer- email me offline with your mailing address.

Be sure to email me if you have any questions about how to apply the L&L tools to CF issues like eating, doing treatments, taking meds, etc. I greatly enjoy brainstorming with CF parents about this stuff.

Okay, that's it for now. I hope I don't sound like a commercial. That's not my intent. I am just so passionate about this material that I get very excited when someone asks about it! So, thanks for asking.

I LOVE your quote on your signature line, by the way.

Take care,
Lisa

Lisa,
Welcome to the site! We are in the Seattle area - Redmond. We've been here 2 years. We've been happy with the CF clinic here although we have nothing to compare it to.

I've had your book on my Amazon list for awhile now. I'll definitely buy it soon.

Hi Sarah,
Thanks for saying hi. Soon we'll be neighbors! We'll be living in the Bellevue area so will be very close to Redmond. Do you attend the CF clinic's support group? I don't know if they still have it there- it's been about 6 years since we've been there. I hope to meet you sometime,
Lisa

Hi Lisa,
The support group is no longer happening, I'm not sure what happened. I got roped into being on the Great Strides committee today so we will definitely be walking this year.
Good luck with your upcoming move. I look forward to meeting you when you get settled in here.
