Ok, so I haven't done regular nebs for almost 20 years. Now I'm doing HS and I only have the 1 cup they gave me. I want extra just in case I manage to break it (I would) but all I have are the ancient ones from when I was a kid. How do I get more? Do I need a perscription? I'm clueless here.

I always get the side stream re-usable cups from Choice Medical Supplies (now they are called Byram) <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.choice-med.com/

</a>
I just call them and give them my insurance information and they handle the rest -- I don't think a prescription is necessary.

You are in Everett aren't you? They are in Bellevue/Seattle (can't remember which is billing and which is sales) but anyway they would be local for you to deal with if that matters at all.

I purchase my own from a company called Emergency Medical Products. Its a provider for my job, I asked if they can sale to people who are not EMT companys. they said yes, but only certain products. They cant sale IVs, Pharmaceutical, but they will tell you what they can or cant sell u. you just give them your name and information and they can set you up an account and send you a catalog. I called Customer Service to set it up. They are very nice. I havent had any problems with them. You can request a catalog on the website. However, they will not bill your insurance company. They dont deal with insurance company, but you can get the forms and try to file it yourself. Its more of an out of pocket thing. But at case of 50 nebs can run from $50 - $90. Or you can just by individual nebs. They have a few options. I use the Hudson Updraft II. I got one of each available neb and that is the one I believe was the quietest and easiest to clean. their website is www.buyemp.com

Um... I just get them free from my clinic. They usually have more than enough laying around, and every clinic I've been to is more than happy to give them out.

I get freebies from the clinic, CF pharmacy services when we order tobi from there and I have gotten some from american allergy. I prefer the pari ones 'cuz they can be boiled and reused. I usually try to find some site that has free shipping 'cuz it's kinda silly to purchase a $3 bubbles the fish mask and some $6 filter and then pay $5.95 in shipping. L

I havent purchase any for myself in years. I get a ton (to stock up) while in the hospital & my side stream one from my doctors. I do know that you can go to a medical supply place & buy them. I purchased one with a child size mask for a friend a few years ago & it was $5. for the disposable kind that get used in the hospital.

Unfortunately, we do not get them free from our clinic. I did quite a bit of research on this and the absolute cheapest placed is the CF Services Pharmacy. I know a lot of people have had problems with them, but I personally have not. You have to have a precription, but your clinic can just call it in or fax it.

The Pari LC nebs are only $11! And that is with free shipping! And for those of you with kids, Bubbles the Fish masks are only $1 (instead of the $5 you pay elsewhere) My home healthcare company was charging my insurance $39 a piece for the Pari LC neb cups!!

Amy,

Yeah, our insurance does cover them, but we also have a $2 million dollar lifetime cap for each individual through my employer's insurance and I will most likely be at this job forever! So unless my employer changes insurance companies (we have had the same one for the last 10 years) then we will have primarily my insurance. The insurance at my husband's employer is OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive. We have great insurance, but I always keep my eye on that lifetime maximum benefit! Hayley is only 2 and is already up over $200,000, so I try to save the insurance company money wherever I can as far as she is concerned, so I looked for the cheapest place to get them and CF Services Pharmacy is it! saves my insurance company over $20 per neb and mask and that's $20 not going toward her lifetime maximum!!

I'd suggest asking the respiratory therapist next time you have a clinic appointment. We get oodles of neb cups with every visit. Liza
