New PEG tube *update with questions*

We are two weeks out and had our follow up yesterday with our CF center. Pain has decreased and she has started doing the vest in the afternoon.

Nausea? Ashley had carsickness (first time EVER) last Saturday. It was the first time we had gotten into the car that early after an all night feed. (0730 in the car, feeding until 0400.) Anyone else?

Forumla? We were on Nutren 1.5 in the hospital and came home with a case which we are out of now. Our home health provider mailed us three cases of formula... however it is Nutren 2.0 and it is Vanilla flavored. I am concerned about the flavoring, why? And also the sugar/calorie difference. Ashley had nausea with minor vomiting this morning. I am wondering if it is because of the different formula. We are out of the 1.5.

I have a call in to our Nutritionist to address these concerns but wanted some Mommy Wisdom as well.

Thanks

I don't know if the nausea if from the car ride. I was nauseous I would say 4 out of 7 mornings when I had the feeding tube. I think this is a result of finishing late/getting up early. If I coughed in the morning (which there was a high likelihood of that) then I would throw up.

I say try finishing as much in the middle of the night as possible and give her enough time to digest it all before she wakes up. If you know that one day is going to be a particulary early morning, you could start earlier the night before or even do 1 less can. She will eventually get used to it as her stomach stretches.
