for the medication; it's exempt from the 3oz rule. Have it in it's own bag, have perscriptions with you and tell the security agent that you have liquid medications in <insert compartment>. my experiences have usually been just fine. Every bag gets opened though. Once, i could hear them trying to figure out what my vest and compressor were from the xray screen. -That- was funny. "Is it a tv? a monitor? I just don't know. Hey dave... what -is- this ... Looks like an old tv to me.." It was great fun for me. Just be ready for them to ask questions, swipe everything with bomb detection pads and it should all be good. I've flown quite a bit with all my stuff, and have never had a real issue, *knock on wood*. PM me if you have more specific questions or anything about flying and equip. Be well, and good luck!

for your meds. keep them in a separate bag in the original Rx bottles.
my pharmacist prints extra labels for me when I need them that way I don't have to bring the whole box of Pulmozyme etc. just the smallest possible package.
as long as the labels are on and they are for you this should be enough to verify that it is Rx and not subject to 3oz rule.
we also travel with the vest and nebulizer. found a suitcase on wheels into which they both fit perfectly. Check it at the gate. Twice now they have lost our luggage but we got the vest and meds!
but allow yourself plenty of time to get thru security!

have a great trip! Drink plenty of water

We just flew to and from Georgia last week. I had both boys' meds in their original bottles in my carry-on with their pulmozyme on ice in a small cooler, several cans of G-tube formula, purell and the neb compressors.

I brought a letter from my doctor stating the medical need (this time it wasn't looked at, but last time it was).

Just tell the security it is medical equipment. Be up-front and tell them right away and there shouldn't be a problem.

You should also be able to bring water for medical reasons.

The only problem we had was coming back from Atlanta I was "flagged" by airline security because I had just gotten my licence renewed so it was paper. ALL of our stuff was taken out and scrutinized, even in the kids' backpacks. I was patted down and wanded. They did take our purell and sealed water away, but at that point I didn't want to make a scene.
