Hi, I am the mother of a 14 year old boy with CF. I have never joined one of these sites before and frankly I don't know why I did this time. But I am here and I guess I am either reaching out or being availabe for someone else for questions.
I do not know anyone else with Cf and have basically mangaged this all by the seat of my pants. My son, Mark is doing very well and we are fortunate enough to live near one of the best chidrens hospitals on the North coast. Mark was born and immmediatly hospitilized with a Meconium Illeus , which was the first sign of a problem. He was officially diagnosed through the sweat test at 2 months and then the fun began. This is one disease where I have learned that you must be organized if you have any hope of maintaining your sanity. My son has now started high school and a whole new slew of problems has risen , not all CF related of course!!! My older son is 22 and even though I have been through this before (high school), it seems alot tougher when the teenager has CF..........
So, I really don't know what else to say at this time, Like I said before I am a newbie, so for now. Take care and stay healthy!!!!!

Thank you for the welcome. I really appreciate it. As for the wealth of information? I know more about CF that I ever thought I would need to know 14 years ago, but you have no choice but to just do it. Mark's doctors and I have managed to stay ahead of the game and hopefully we can continue to keep him healthy.
