wow, it looks like dr. warwick himself has tried to weigh in on this thread!

i wanted to say, i have tried both the Hill Rom and Respirtech. for those of you who are interested, there have been a lot of other threads on this you should search for. my input is that i liked the Respirtech better because i feel the product is superior and the people at the company are very helpful and kind.

the only advantage to the Hill Rom is that is it slightly quieter and more easily portable. for me, these weren't big enough of a deal to outweigh all the other stuff.

I'm with Liz, the vests should be available in Canada......... I've asked my doctors too and there's nothing even remotely close to being available in Canada. They believe percussors work just as well and a cheaper. One day they might open their eyes and see that things like the vest work better and are actually used more making them ACTUALLY effecive.

Personally I hate percussors I find they do nothing but make my sides sore and itchy.

This is our incourage Respirtech unit at work (that is if the photo shows up) We really like it although you do have to turn the tv up pretty loud.

It finally died...yea! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> it gave me a headache and sounded like an airplane! .)

AnD if you want to learn more about the differences between the Respirtech Vest and the Hillrom Vest, you can go to my blog and under categories click "Warwick". In his letter to me he details why the two are different.

Looks like he is on this site now as well, so hopefully he'll chime in <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I live in Ontario Canada, and I know a few kids up here who use the vest. The local cf clinic has also been lending them out for three week periods to see how the kids and parents like them. We have to wait another couple of months and then the twins get their trial period. If they do like them, then the hospital will find funding for them for the boys.
