Thanks for the kind welcome. Right now my girl is having a real bad cough. I'm very anxious about it. It breaks my heart to see how hard she is trying to sleep and can't stop coughing. What can I do to help her? We had 2 sleepless nights and is looking tonight will be another one. She doesn't have fever but she is coughing more than usual. If we can't give her cough suppresants. what can we give her? Please any advice.

First off...welcome to you and that adorable little girl of yours<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
Your story sounds like ours. I kept taking my older daughter to the pediatrician, who kept telling me it was normal to have 10 pale yellow bms a day and that she was eating so much, even in the middle of the night, b/c she was spoiled. She then had a rectal prolapse, and she was dx within a few days. Needless to say, we dropped that pediatrician in a heartbeat. I was ticked off!
As for her cough, I would increase Chest Physical Therapy, if you haven't already. Maybe you could give her CF clinic a call in the morning and let them know what is going on.
Welcome to our 'CF Family'.

Welcome! About the cough...if she is not on a nebulizer med, your CF doctor may prescribe one. It helped my daughter when she had a cough and has seemed to do great ever since starting the nebs. You should contact her CF doctor.

This morning I called CF center. They said I needed to go to her ped. I took her to her ped and he said her tonsil are swollen, he prescribed antibiotics. He heard a little bit of wheezing and I called CF center. CF Center said we should put her on albuterol. We did all this and I still don't see any difference but I I guess I need to wait to see results. The lack of sleep and stress is killing me. Did I say that I work everyday from 7.30 am to 5.30 pm with 2 hours lunch break which I use to bring her home and do vest, feed her etc... Thanks for letting me vent. I'm just tired. So many emotions at the same time. Scare of the future. I'm praying God gives me the strenght. How do you all handle the stress that comes with this?
