Hello, I had some what the same problem with nasal polyps some yrs back, 35-45 yrs. Have had two surg. going through nose, some what uncomfortable. Each time they would come back. The last time they went up between the gum and jaw bone, cleaned those polyps out. That was at least 20 yrs ago and have not had any problem since. If I remember correctly, the ent surgeon scraped it so it would not return. Good luck.

Hi, I had roughly 7-8 nasal polyp surgeries between ages 5 and 20. I'd be fine for a couple of months, and then they'd return. They still seem to return, but I seem to be able to blow them out now with great effort and the help of snorting a lot of nasal saline washes (the polyps are weird pink-tan fleshy lined looking lumps, umm, very different than boogers). Sorry if I'm grossing anyone out. I didnt find that ANY preventative meds made any difference whatsoever.

Thanks for the description, seriously. I was asked recently if I'd had any problem with nasal polyps and had to reply, 'I don't know. I wouldn't recognize one if it bit me on the foot'. Thankfully, I've never had the problem.

I am sorry you are dealing with this painful problem. Do you take hypertonic saline? I have noticed a huge difference to my sinuses since starting this (as well as my lungs). I was having surgery every two years, but i have gone five years without one. I do do fairly long treatments with the HTS but it has certainly had huge benefits (i use 6%).

I also see you are taking singulair. If allergies are playing a part in the problem it may be worth being allergy tested to see what in particular causes you grief? In the mean time maybe a non-drying antihistamine such as fexofenadine daily could help long term?

Hi there! Zoe has had 4 sinus surgeries...and in between the last 2, which were only 2 weeks apart, she grew 2 huge polyps!! So, her ENT has switched her from Nasonex spray, to using a compunded Mometasone (the med that is in Nasonex) from a specialty pharmacy (ASL-out of Ca.) in her sinus rinses. She uses a sinus rinse first, then the second bottle of sinus rinse has this added med in it. Hopefully we will see a drastic change in her sinus issues with this new routine.

She also grows Staph constantly, so we are going to start using this product below. If you read the results of this product.....I was amazed at all the bacterias that it kills! PA being one of them!

It is also available in a throat spray! I think this is something all cf'ers should give a try!
