It was announced at a fundraiser last night that Michigan has passed legislation to begin newborn screening for CF in September 2007!!!

I was lucky enough to thank my senator in person. Please take the time to contact your senator and thank them also if you reside in Michigan.

It's ridiculous that you dont have new born screening, we have had it here since before 1981, every child born in Australia is tested for CF and other genetic diseases (on the down side of that, it turns out that all of the blood tests have been kept on file, so they have a blood sample of every child born since 1981...that's a bit of a worry!!).
