i do most of my injections in my sides above my hips, if that makes any sense...it's where i have the most fat. but i bruise so easily so my sides look like someone's beat me up haha. i also do my legs sometimes if i'm wearing shorts ...sometimes that's hard though because you tend to have a lot of muscle in your legs and it really hurts if you hit your muscle. i wish i had a better answer for you!

i was just dxed with cfrd at the first of the year, the only thing i can say is keep a chart of your blood glucose on your computer in an excel document, it'll give you averages, highs, lows, averages for certain times, i'll make you one if you want me too, then you just plug in your numbers. its helped me a lot, same goes for the other people i'll just modify mine, its got other stuff on it as well, and send it too you.

I know it may be really annoying and not the most fun thing to do... BUT I would recommend taking your blood sugar ANYTIME you feel "abnormal" be it extremely hungry, have a headache, are extra sweaty, feel extremely tired or cranky, shaky or anything like that.

I was almost obsessive about checking my blood sugar when I was first diagnosed. In doing that though I was able to figure out how my body reacts to highs and lows. I can pinpoint roughly what my blood sugar is now just by how I feel. I randomly check it if I am unsure, but for the most part I know when things are not right.

It is an adjustment and is alot of getting used to at first, I can guarantee that as time passes you will find that you don't even think about the sugar sticks and the insulin shots and such. It will become a part of your every day routine and will just blend in with everything else you have to do.

I am sorry you are having to deal with it though - I know I had a hard time adjusting at first but as time has passed it doesn't even cross my mind.

Best of Luck,
