Thanks for submitting the above article to this forum, yes, it is interesting. As a CF elder with progressively, deteriorating bouts of infection, I agree it is my personal responsibility to take care of my health.

Cheers
Eileen.

Adult Diagnosis is the term that Dr. Nick is using for those diagnosed at age 20 or older.
Many of us have had symptoms for years - some since infancy - with no diagnosis.

I just thought it was interesting, it still kinda blows my mind to think of people being diagnosed later in life. Then again I was diagnosed at 3 months so I've never known any different.

Thanks for posting this...I was just diagnosed at the age of 29 a month ago after having just a chronic cough and nasal polyps for a number of years. It's definitely a hard thing to explain to people since it's so associated with being diagnosed so young and/or people don't know the disease in general. I am glad that there is an increasing awareness regarding adult diagnosis as I think sometimes of all the time I could have been doing treatments, but I also like to see it as a way to make people aware of the disease and to listen to your gut to keep pushing for that diagnosis even if others think you are crazy.

Great Post!!!

It gets my goat when one of the experts on this forum / website says some people with a mild & severe mutation may never have any complications from this combination!!!! We'll that fries my wires and as Blondy's song goes "one way or another I'm gonna get ya get ya" well that's what someone has had the balls to put into print and I hope some others read this post those giving advise on this site, some of us know is out right dead wrong. I challenge anyone to find the person with my mutations at my age w/o complications from this nasty beast. Yea we got a huge break in late onset but one way or another it's gonna get ya get ya so do drink the purple juice!! Great post and you parents of some future CFer's don't drink the purple juice make sure your kids are doing everything to keep the beast at bay for they may pass from another beast. That's my Doc's position. Have been waiting a long time for this opportunity.
