Hey guys!! Zoey is back in the hospital getting ready to have a g tube put in. Because she has so much scar tissue they arent going to be able to do it laparoscopically. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"> They were also talking about the nissen surgery because she throws up ALL THE TIME. They finally decided not to do it. Has any one had this done before? Did it help you? This will make her 4th surgery and shes only 7 months old. WOW!!! I have a little trooper..........Thanks guys for keeping us in your prayers. I haven't even had time to think about my pregnancy which I guess is a good thing because time is going by quicker!!!!!!! Thank You.....Sarah

My son underwent surgery for the Nissan this past November at 5 months of age. We are completely happy with our decision to have followed through with the procedure as it has made a world of difference for our son. He is a happier little guy!

If you would like to hear more of our experience with the Nissan, please don't hesitate to ask.

BEST WISHES TO YOUR DAUGHTER AND YOUR FAMILY!

My daughter was scheduled to get a g-tube and nissan last week. She didn't get the surgery because she caught a virus. She is also getting a nissan because the doctors thought she might reflux at night while she got her night time feedings. After doing an endoscopy and ph probe study, they were right. She does reflux a lot at night. I have heard about it slipping and having to do the surgery again, so it does make me nervous. But I don't think we have a choice. Her x-rays are starting to show problems and they think she is aspirating. Sophia is getting it done laparoscopically. She should be in the hospital for around 5 days.

My daughter threw up a few times a day until she was seven months old. She was on ng feeding tube from the time she was 3 to 7 months old due to the vomiting and food refusal. They finally did an endoscopy at 7 months old. The biopsy of the lining of her intestine showed a milk allergy. So all we did was switch her formula to nutramigen. She started to eat and her vomiting stopped three weeks later.

well we just talked to zoeys docs and they said they want to go ahead and do the nissen surgery. Im really scared now. From what I hear they will have to reopen her scar from her meconium ileus which extends across her whole stomach. I feel so bad for her. Im just ready for all these surgeries to be over so she can get on to being a happy active little girl. She likes to roll over now so its going to be hard keeping her off her stomach while she recovers. Please continue to keep her in your prayers...........Sarah

Wow, your little one has been through so much! Zoey will definitely by in my family's thoughts and prayers, as well as you also.

Briceton was refluxing as well as aspirating into his lungs which also caused pneumonia, collapsed lung, and a lot of secondary infections. The surgery was pretty much are only choice as severe lung damage was inevitable from the aspiration.

The surgery went great and recovery seemed to be a breeze for my little man. I only pray that Zoeys surgery and recovery go as well as his and I will definitely be thinking of her.

Please keep us updated,

Sherry

I had the nissin/gtube surgery about 2 years ago. I'm not gonna lie it was hard(atleast for me), I wasnt able to swallow big pills without gaggin and I had to chew my food extra good because if it was to big it would get stuck and I'd have to wait a few minutes before attempting to take another bite. It still happens sometimes. In the end...it was worth it. The aspirating caused alot of lung infections and now I dont have to go in as much. BUT...the nissin can slip and can stop working and they'd have to redo it.
