I thought the link that AnD provided was very helpful (second response) in reading PFTs. Some people may not respond because they might not have an answer for you, but sometimes they are just as curious as you are about a specific topic or question. Welcome to the site!

getting info online might be helpful. all i know is my goal is to get my fev1 over 80%, thats just for me. i've heard about the fev1 falling into the mild, moderate, and severe categories, but i'm not sure how accurate that is with us cfer's. good luck and sorry i'm not much help on this subject.

The only time I will make a redundant reply is when the thread is kind of a 'what should I do?' type of thing. If the person gets 10+ replies saying the same thing, I think it's more comforting. But if it's just general info then I don't really need to pipe up unless I have something new to add. You'll find that to be true on most good forums. On 'bad' forums you get people that post 0293840392 times a day just because they can, with nothing useful to add. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> (I hope I'm not doing that >_>)

I am one of the lurkers who read your post but didn't respond. Mostly because I had the same question myself with regard to understanding PFT numbers and was interested in the responses!
