It is possible to have few or no symptoms until early adulthood. My CF symptoms started causing issues at about age 22 but I didn't start getting recurrent bronchitis until my early 30's. I was diagnosed at age 36 after I figured it out myself! The good news is that my lungs are in great condition still. I'm 38.5 years old now and I have a toddler. Being diagnosed with CF is a major event but it doesn't mean that you/your life will be turned upside down forever. There are just some changes like having to do treatments and take better care of yourself. I hope it isn't CF but if it is you are not alone, there are quite a few of us who were diagnosed late.
