I love your name! Caelan is very pretty and different. I also love Erin - that was one of my choices for our new baby, but didn't fly with my hubby. I am due Feb. 11 - our baby is going to be Lillian Claire. So far no signs of CF (according to level 2 ultrasounds - no amnio) and we had a sweat test done on our 3 year old and she came back negative - thank god! We will have Lilly's cord blood tested when she is born. Good luck to you and your new baby girl!

They can detect CF with ultrasounds now? I didn't know that. How does it work? (Do they look for intestinal blockage in the baby?)

Hope you don't mind me asking. As for the name, I'd recommend "Jessica" just because my favorite person in the world is named that.

No ultrasounds can't detect CF, but they can look for the blockage in the bowels, which of course is just one thing that a baby with CF could have. In my case - it means I would have to deliver at a different hospital - one with a high level neonatal unit so as of now I get to deliver at the hospital close to my home. Apparently on the level 2 ultrasound they can see more than just the regular ultrasounds (personally, I think they look the same, but I guess the professionals know what they are talking about!). I will probably have one more ultrasound later in my pregnancy, but I have had 3 so far and everything looks perfect - yeah!

I thought Caelan was pronounced 'keelin'? Maybe Im wrong, or else american pronounciation is different. If you're looking for something different or Irish, how about Sinead (pronounced Shin-aid) or Aoife (Eefah) or Shira (sheera) or Ailbhe (alva)? Of course Caelan is beautiful too!

My name is Colleen, is Gaelic and also means girl. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> Most people who know me semi-well call me Coll though, and so does my mom usually. I like Caelan, it's different and pretty. I personally kind of like the name Keely (not Kelly, Keely) also.

I am wondering if you have CF? It says that your one child doesntt and the other is a possibility so I am just wondering about yourself. If you don't mind answering. Good luck on finding out about your baby!

As for Caelan I think it is beautiful. I like the unique spelling of it.

I found that quite often any name you pick doesnt suit the baby until you see them so having a few picked out would be good.

My cousin named her first daughter Kalyn. Its a combination of her middle name "lynn" and her sisters "Kay"...and my middle name too "kay". I thought it was neat. Sometimes you can get cool names with different combos of something that means something special. But it doesnt alway work
