I just want to mention to be careful about anti-histamines. Though they definetly dry up that post-nasal drip, they dry up the secretions in our lungs which makes it really hard to cough up and out. I can't cough up anything if I take a Claritin or Sudafed and the whole point of therapies is to cough out that stuff. So just be careful and have him tell you if he's having trouble coughing up stuff once he's on it.

That's actually not true of all anti-histamines - but only of those that have anti-cholinergic effects.

Which is why, if you read my blog as I mentioned earlier, I recommend Allegra because unlike Benadryl, Zyrtec, Xyzal, Claritin and Clarinex, Allegra doesn't have anti-cholinergic properties.

Hi Jane,
Nothing really to add. Just wanted to say that I hope you find answers soon so Josh can find some comfort. You've been talking about this for awhile and it's about time he gets some relief! Take Care,
