Noxafil/Vfend, severe hair loss

Hi,
I am wondering if anyone else on VFend of Noxafil has experienced a lot of hair loss. I was on VFend to treat both Aspergillous and Scedosporium and its related asthmatic effects, but quit due to feeling really yucky on it. I had some hair loss with the Vfend med and now have severe hair loss and scalp itching with the newer antifungal I have been put on Noxafil, aka posaconazole. It is a relatively newer drug, approved in 2006. I've only been on it for about a week and a half and am losing a lot of hair, about 20x more than normal shedding. I'm a little worried I will be nearly bald by the end of this months treatment. I had a drs appt Thursday where I brought up the hair loss and my dr said it wasn't a typical side effect. Since then I have gotten an itchy scalp and even more hair loss, its a little alarming. I will give them a call Monday, but in the meantime am wondering if anyone else out there has experienced this and if you have found anything that helps. Scalpicin helps with the scalp itching, but not the massive shedding. Thanks so much in advance for any replies and feel free to PM me if you would like!

I have been on Vfend for 3+ years now and have not noticed that problem. Now over the years of having to have iv's more, i noticed my hair thinning but that was already long before i started taking Vfend. One thing i do get because of Vfend is ........like instant sunburn if i spend more than a minute in the sun without sunblock or a hat. The part in my hair by my bangs gets a bad sunburn as does my hands and nose. Never had that problem before.
