NPD results

Hi all--I know in the past someone posted how to de-cipher NPD results. I searched but cannot find it. DS has another sweat test, first CT scan of lungs and sinuses, and an NPD today at Hopkins. If anyone has info on the NPD, I would appreciate it.

Thanks from icy PA

I wish the very, VERY best at your son's appt today and hope all the testing goes well!!

Information is generated as the NPD is done, but they take the data from both nostrils and analyze ALL of it before compiling the final report. Unless the dr himself is there as the test is being done and commenting on the test as it's being done, odds are pretty high you won't be able to accurately gauge the results for yourself as they are generated (esp if they are not overwhelmingly pos or neg.)

While I have come to a better understanding of the test and how it's done in the time since my son's was done, I would not be of much help in pulling those numbers apart and telling you what they translate to on that computer screen. I DO know, however, that it's not a single 'magic number', otherwise they would not go through such a complex test process. Our report referred to several responses and numbers as being significant diagnostically. I have Shawn's final report and would be happy to compare notes with you once you have your son's report!
