Have you been increasing enzymes based on the increase in her eating/feedings? How are her stools?

Also, our doctor recommended adding table food at 6 months -- baby food was low in fat and sodium, so we pretty much ground up what we were eating, wtihin reason or I'd doctor up baby food -- add a little salt, butter or oil.

My daughter is almost 6 months old. She has a G-tube due to poor feeding, but the doctors are very pleased with her weight now. They have her on 26 calorie formula, eating 5 oz. four times a day, then an additional 10-ish oz. over night through the g-tube (a little over an oz. an hour)

Usually around this age they'd be eating about 30 oz divided up however, but a CFer typically needs an additional 20%. Your daughter sounds just perfect!

As a side note, we also add a few tsp. rice cereal to her bottle due to her horrible reflux, it helps keep it down. We also spoon feed her some rice cereal mixed w/ formula and some applesauce or pears before she has her bottle.

For a "normal baby" they should eat NO MORE than 36 oz of formula a day. (formula/breastmilk should be the main source of nutrition for a baby until 1 year)

That being said since its a CF baby you should be getting ATLEAST 36 oz of formula in before adding rice cereal.

Also most babies under 6 months of age have a hard time digesting cereal and it sits like sludge in there bellies. A baby with CF is probably not going to get much nutrition out of the cereal. I would try feeding avacodo b/c its a very high fat/cal food plus its healthy for you. You can mix it with banana, applesauce, or something like that.

Great suggestions! We went to CF clinic yesterday and she's moved up to the 25% for weight. 13lbs. at 4 1/2 months old. The dietitian said to keep doing whatever it is we're doing and we should be fine. I think I'll give her baby food for now and when she's closer to 6 months I'll try to start grinding up our food. She seems to be digesting the cereal fine so far. As you all know, we just worry so much with these little CFers. Thanks!
