O2 at night???

At what oximetry percent do doctors begin O2 at night? My doctors just had me perform an overnight oximetry test at home and I am wondering. Thanks!

When my O2 got down to 88 I was put on oxygen but It might even be 89 because it's so close to 87 and 87 is when you require oxygen. When my O2 was at 88 I was like on 2 to 3 liters of oxygen at night. My O2 is around 81 to 82 right now so they put me on 5 liters at night. I have a 10liter concentrator now but started off with a 5liter one... the maximum O2 that the body can use through a nose cannula, "from a concentrator" is like 6 or maybe a little higher like 7 or 7 1/2 if you use a face mask to include both the mouth and nose. Even though the dial goes up to 10liters I'm not 100% sure why. Hope this info helps!!!! Love and Light!!

I use O2 at night and I can say that I sleep better with O2 than without it. Before O2 I was waking up frequently during the night. Being well oxygenated helps the body function at its peak. Sleep is a time for the body to repair and refresh. Being in an anaerobic state starves the body. I was not happy when I was told I needed O2 at night, but it makes a big difference in my overall well-being. I say, embrace the O2 as a means of being at your best so that you can exercise and perform well all day long.

I've been using 02 at night and I definitely sleep better and have a lot more energy during the day. The downside is that since I'm not getting up every hour or two, when I wake up in the morning, my lungs are a LOT more congested since I havent been doing as much hacking during the night. I also exercise with 02 and it makes such a big difference in my exhaustion level, during and after. I started myself on 02 when I noticed my sats were dropping to 88 at night. (yes, you can get the stuff online without a script) Finally after a MONTH I was able to get the simple sleep study at home, and it showed that during deep sleep they were in the low 80's. Good thing I was proactive, I could just visualize the little brain cells dying off in droves...............ugh!
