Hi, joined boards a month or so ago, and a few days ago went to my "local" "cf" (really a plain pulmonologist) doctor for a monthly check up. I had started an exercise program about 3 weeks ago, did it faithfully for 2 weeks then the 3rd week was finals (no time to exercise, barely eating and getting nebs done along with sleep). Anyways I had been getting headaches a few times after working out and lately had pretty much a constant headache, I started thinking it was low o2 (or cold, I live in Northern NV and its been cold and snowing like crazy). I was confused b/c I am exercising to raise volumes and capacity and o2 sats etc...
When I went in my o2 after just walking to the vital machine and getting weight, was down to 87-90 (after resting a minute). So i told my doctor, did a 6 minute walk test and turns out, I got all the way down to 75%!
My altitude is about 4400 ft and my main cf hospital is in S.F (sea level) my o2 sats typically range from 92-95% at home and 94-98% at sea level. Now I am 90-93% at rest, and QUICKLY go down to high-mid 80s with any walking/exhurtion.
I did a sleep study last night but was already prescribed o2 at night and exhurtion... (even before test was done)
Anyways, I am a bit scared, b/c my fev1 was the same (1.5) for a few months now (1.4-1.6), but w/in last month started on inhaler Symbicort, that is ALL that is different w/ my routine.
If anyone has any ideas I can run past my doctors i would appreciate it. I obviously have those bad bugs so I have been looking for a tx center already but we all said I was probably still not vital currently, I havent found a center to take me and I am just worried that, something is going wrong bad, quickly and worried i wont get listed in time or something.
This is also obviously first time (I remember) ever having such problems with o2 sats.
Sorry so long... appreciate any input.
