Odd ideas for treating CF?

There is a device out there that uses sound frequency for airway clearance.

I believe it is called the frequencer and I think the person who invented has cf and noticed the same thing you notice at rock concerts---that the sound helped him cough up mucus. Not sure about killing bacteria though.

I think I got that right---it has been awhile since I read about that device.

My doctor was telling me of some of the crazy things people have done for lungs. Some guy with COPD was inhaling Hydrogen peroxide. His hair turned white and that's how they knew he was doing something. Anyway, I think it was helping him, but I'd be very cautious in trying something like that. Especially with a background of hemoptysis.

Cool. Well if anyone else has any odd ideas for treating their CF bugs or CF in general, please offer them up.

Yes, there was a thread on the Frequencer about a year back or so..the inventor of the machine had even come on here to post questions.
Basically, it sends acoustical sound waves from about 60 to 100 Hertz (could be a wider range), of which would cause enough resonation to loosen phlegm. I think if you did a search on here, you might still find it...

As for the original post; sorry Faust, but I could only handle reading the first two paragraphs. Ultraviolet radiation, which, if I'm not mistaken, is along the X-radiation and Gamma Radiation spectrum...if you are aware of what too much X-radiation does to the human body, Ultraviolet radiation is probably about the same...not a good idea in my opinion.

Electrical Therapy?! First, the body is basically a bunch of ions. The heart beats due to the sodium and potassium cloride reaction, which is the energy that the cardioencephlograph picks up. the CPR Machine (Cardio Pulmonary Resucitation), that sends a shock to the heart to re-polarize it!
Also, the maximum amount of current that can safely run through the human body is 0.5 milliamps, or 0.0005 amps. Anything above that can be lethal, mostly because it polarizes the heart and you know what that can lead to...
How electricity can kill bacteria, etc., I cannot imagine unless they can't handle the current anymore than the body..as for AC or DC...AC is the most likely to cause a shock because the polarity quickly changes, which would change the polarity of the body's ions. More than likely it would be more than likely a DC voltage with a current that is less than that which is dangerous to the body...however, not every part of the body contains the same resistance, and the electric current will flow through the easiest path to ground (basic electricity), which doesn't guarantee that the current is going where you want it to.
Of course, you are free to correct me, except on the electronics theory, that happens to be my specialty...

There was someone on another CF list that I was a part of who used hydrogen peroxide IV's for her lungs. She also went through some sort of food detox and cleaned out her whole digestive system by eating only rice or something like that. She says she was on the tx list and is now doing very well after all the treatments. I don't know if she's on this forum, but it would be interesting to hear her story again.
