Does anyone know how bowling alleys can get by with allowing smoking in all areas?

I'm thinking of contacting a state rep, the state dept of health or something to complain but didn't know if it would do any good.

I know it's so hard to believe that there are still places in the US that allow smoking. I'm in CA and smoking is not allowed in public areas. I'm right on the border of Nevada though which allows smoking everywhere and anywhere. It's really a strange thing when I'm not thinking about it and go into a Reno super market, hear the sounds of Wheel-Of-Fortuneeeee bells going off on the slot machines and people smoking right at the check out stands. It's like a culture shock 20 minutes from home.

Ya smoking sucks, but honestly...you can't judge people for smoking...I mean people do what they do, just accept it. I dunno, i bet a lot of you given the circumstances would be smokers right now if you had healthy lungs. It happens. You can tell people what you think, but no need getting angry at them. What's the point? Stress for nothing.

I think the grossest thing that I saw as far as smoking goes is seeing an elderly woman with a trach smoking, it was when I first started working in a nursing home. When I saw her put that cigarette in her trach and inhale, I nearly lost it. She did have some advice "Please honey, don't ever smoke or you will wind up like me"
Fortunately I live in NY where smoking is prohibited in public places, but when I went to Las Vegas, it was a culture shock as one poster said. Smoke everywhere, I couldn't avoid it, it was everywhere. When I came home, my clothes smelled llike an ashtray. Gross!

Personally, I think it's better for them to smoke in THIER car, as long as I"M not in it!!
I can't STAND walking BEHIND someone who's smoking while walking on the street, or even between trains!! I have to hold my breath when I go by the "Smoking Area" to get to the train car I need, which is irritating, but better than some who DON'T smoke in their designated "Cancer-Stick Area"!
Yea, and I hate it when they stash their butts out the window of their car, or even drop it on the sidewalk (Or whatever I'm walking on at the time)
Though, using my sister's motto, "If you can smoke, I can fart They both stink, and they're both disgusting!!" (Try and make a bumper sticker with that one!!-Oh, send credit to my sister!!)
My dad was very apologetic to me last year, for his numerous years of smoking around me--He would be considered one of the rude smokers, along with my smoking siblings!!
At least with my brother-in-law, he takes it out to the garage where there's open air, and it doesn't seem to bother me!! He doesn't smoke in the car when I'm there, but it could either be from my sister's request, or he knows my health well enough not to smoke in an enclosed location with me. (Or, he may not want his new truck to smell like smoke)
