just wondering at what week does the doctor actually start examing? i go next week and i will be 30 weeks. do they start checking then? just want to be prepared to take my clothes off <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

i went to my cf doctor yesterday and she said to continue what i'm eating until i see a high risk ob which will be next week. she told me to stay away from soft drinks and that is so my weakness. i have got to find a diet carbonated caffine free drink that i like. she said if my blood sugars are too high they will just adjust it with insulin.

Cervical checks late in pregnancy tell you absolutely nothing. You could be closed up tight and go into labor that night or you could be 5 cm for weeks. My OB only does them at a woman's request usually because "they like to tell people #s" (his words). He says there's no point. For my next pregnancy I'll refuse any checks till I'm in labor and even then only when/if I request them. I know it's fun to know if you are dilated but they're not a great experience and some women find them painful. So feel free to refuse them if you want.
