Hi...not her gene sequencing was not done by ambry...we live in Canada, so it was done by a lab in Toronto. Good idea to have the gene sequencing done..., as I said, no mutations showed up on the first test, and through sequencing both were found.</end quote></div>

My sons clinic sent his blood sample to the same lab ... im assuming this is the only lab where this test is done, perhaps not but the requisiton form said Toronto. I was told it will take upwards of 7 - 8 weeks for the results to come back to us, so I am wondering if this means they are doing a very comprehensive testing .

Hi...yes, I believe that if it was sent to Toronto they would be doing full sequencing of the gene. My understanding is tests are sent there if mutations are not found in initial panal testing. OH....and yes, it did take about 2 months before we got results back from Toronto with mutations.

Caraweger... when you had the test done did they ask for ethnicity? I wondered this because they asked me for Matthews ethnic background ... I assume they ask everyone but because I am of mixed ancestory which includes Aboriginal and European they assumed cf was not likely so this was stressed as a rule out until he manifested lung issues again .
