OK, I'm confused...

OK, what gives? I just found out that I have CF-related
Osteoporosis. I'm sure I'll be placed on some medical regiment.
Then I see this article and now I'm confused. Is there any truth to
this?
I haven't read the article yet, but I am taking 4 ADEKs a day and my Vit D levels were low, so they put me on some extra Vit D pills and After I took them for a few months, my levels were STILL low, so we just kinda gave up on getting them up. This same thing also happened to my brother.

My vit D levels were low earlier this year, they put me on a perscription dose (no joke!) I only take it once a week but within a month of taking it my levels were where they wanted them.. Maybe I missed it in the article but from what I saw it didn't say what type of vit D they were using in the study. My dietician says fat soluble is best. And you have to take it with your enzymes and food for it to absorb better.

This may be of no help, but i'll throw it out there anyway. My dietician told me last summer to sit in the sun each day for at least 10 minutes wearing similar to what i was wearing that day ( a tank top and shorts). The sun gives us natural Vit.D thru our skin.

As simple as that sounds, you have a point. I am taking vitamin
supplements until I get the full report on how bad the problem is.
I never get sun. Guess I might do it now.
I just filled prescription strength Vit-D, Vitamin D 50,000 units
softpil for, Josh today. The CF clinic ordered it because his
vitamin D level was low. I'll let you know how it works.
