OK to use dehumidifier water in washing machine?

We have always emptied our dehumidifier water into our washing machine. After reading the other thread on washing, I wondered if there is anyone has any info on this? When I googled, I got opinions both pro and con, but no evidence either way.

We empty the dehumidifier every day (sometimes twice) and make sure the bucket is cleaned with bleach once a week. Any thoughts?

Just a question because I have never heard of that....Why do you dump it into the washer and not into like the sink or the bathtub?

Because it is right next to the washer in the basement. It was just easier to dump it in there than haul it upstairs to the sink or tub.

Oh...in that case....here is what we did with ours! There is a spot for a hose on most dehumidifiers (a plastic piece that you have to pop out where you can screw the hose in) and then put the hose into the spot where the washer drains, and you don't have to empty the dehumidifier at all.....you have a continuous drain.
