I have been in touch with the parent of a CFer who has an older vest stystem that they don't/can't use on their child because it is a vest for an adult sized person. It is older, clunky, bigger.... but the parents wanted to donate it to a victim of the hurricane. Maybe somebody who didn't have insurance for a vest, or lost theirs in the hurricane. Their preference is that it go first to someone who was a victim of the hurricaine but if there are any "adult sized" CFers out there who are in need of one and will use it, they are more than happy to hand it over.
I have recommended they contact the CFF or red cross, but their concern (and I believe somewhat valid) is that it will not end up in the hands of a CFer. They are wanting to directly contact a person and arrange shipping/transportation or something. If anyone is from that area, or in contact with a CFer from that area who could benefit, please please let them know. I can be reached at this site or at division902@hotmail.com.
