OMG SO Frustrated with Preg Tests!!!

OK, so hubby and I tried my past cycle. I've been avoiding talking about it too much-I don't know, the jinx thing I guess. Plus it feels good to have something that is just mine/ours.

My last period (day 1) was Oct 22. A couple days before my next period would have been due, I got a faint positive line on a preg test-very faint. You had to hold it up to the light to see it.
I didn't say anything to hubby. That night, another faint faint line. Next morning, it was slightly darker. With my daughter (now 2.5) I never had very dark lines-always light. So I felt confident this was it. I had also been vomiting and nauseous for days now, plus my boobs grew a size-literally. I no longer fit into half of my blouses.
That night, I started getting a brownish/pink discharge, very lightly.
By the next morning, it was red spotting. And, my preg test was negative!!! I wondered if I was m/c, or what. The day after, I was bleeding like a medium period. And that was the day of my expected period.

Duh, right-I wasn't pregnant, I just had a stomach bug and weird bleeding. Then it all stopped-the bleeding lasted 2 days, and I had 2 days of light brownish discharge. Normally my period is 5-6 solid days of blood.

Anyway, I let it go and have been tracking my ovulation.-with the kits and mucus method, not tempuratures.

Today though I woke up and threw up again. The nausea has been non stop for the last 2 weeks. I figured I'd do a preg test again today-it was positive. Still a very light line, but darker than the last 3 ones I did a week ago.
I have had the cramping too-all the same stuff when I was preg 3 yrs ago.

I don't understand why these tests would do this though. Why would I get a positive for a couple days, and then nothing for a week...only to now get a positive again.

I just called my doc to see if they'll give me a blood test. Get this-my obgyn told me they don't do blood tests till you are suspected 10 weeks preg. (if I am, I'd only be 6) They sent me to my primary doc for the blood test-who told me to use my obgyn for the test! So I called my cf doc and thankfully they will do it! Bless them.

my biggest concern is-if I really am, Is something wrong??? I'm so worried. Why would I have 2+ days of bleeding? And obviously if I am I have low HcG levels. Why? Does this mean there is a problem?
I'm wondering if any of ladies have heard of finding out this late that you are pregnant- and does it mean theres a problem of course....I always thought you do your test the day before or of your exp period-yes or no and thats that.
At this point I'm almost hoping I'm not so I can keep focusing on trying. oh....God..

I'm so sorry for what you're going through! How frustrating. My guess is that you don't have a viable pregnancy but only the blood test will tell for sure. That is CRAZY that the obgyn won't do the blood test. Hope you get some answers soon! Hugs

My cousin went through this earlier this year and just delivered a healthy baby girl on Tuesday. She had negative pregnancy tests even after her 20 week ultrasound when they told her she WAS indeed pregnant and that it was a girl.

Could be a combination of things, but beleeding early in pregnancy isn't actually all that bad of a thing or unusual if it's not too heavy. Some women bleed heavily with implantation, others spot, still others have no implantation signs.

Also if you are a little further along, you could have placenta previa (I had this with mine) where the baby implants really close or over the cervix so that as the cervix grows it causes tearing and therefore bleeding. This could mean you'd need some close monitoring (if it is ON the cervix) or you could outgrow it as your uterus stretches. It's something they can tell on an ultrasound pretty easily.

Keep us posted and I'll keep you in my prayers!
