On IV's at home

I've always done buisness as usual with IVs. I used to have a picc line in either my arm or wrist before switching to a port 6 years ago, and I still did everything I used to do, (except swimming). Friends would understand what it meant when I had a bandage on my arm, and they'd help look after me <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> I'd be quite careful when shopping - its probably best to avoid crowds, but I can't remember ever being stopped from doing anything. I even went to a friends sleepover when I was about 9 or 10, and my mum just came to do my night meds and left.

Hey, my Lexi just got off of 5 weeks of Vanc at home. She is 5 and we did pretty much what we wanted to do, as long as it did not put her at risk for injury or infection to her PICC. Her infusions took 2 hours so we would plan to be home or in the car for those. I did not want to risk that IV line catching on anything.

One thing I can suggest and recieved lots of compliments for when we went for her check up at UNC is using "Baby Legs" to cover her line. You can order them from Ebay and they come in a ton of colors. This made her PIcc less noticable and was fun to wear. They are cotton, so it was also pretty cool.
