Sorry to hear you're still feeling *blah* Kelli <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-frown.gif" border="0">

I'd have to chime-in with Wheezie and Sakasuka that taking a few weeks off of work to do IV's, so it gives you a chance to heal, and prevent the antibiotics (abx) from becoming resistant from extra bugs coming in might be a good idea. Technically, the body is supposed to fight off the infections, but if its too worn out, even the meds won't help, IMO. If you've been religious about it, but had still been keeping your work schedule, maybe that's the catch?
Perhaps while staying home, trying to do something for additional PT, like deep breathing?!, or such might help those PFT's go up more...seems that going from 40 to 45 shows that it can go past your original 48!

I hope this helps, or gives you ideas on how to drop-kick this nasty PFT drop <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I seem to agree with every one of these smart caring people.

Also remember when you are working you are not drinking the amount of water you should be drinking probably not eating right and not resting. The Body needs sleep to fight infection. I don't take naps when Im sick but I don't do home cleanouts either. I won't rest when Im home. I have to do laundry, and clean house and dinner for hubby. So I make myself go into the hospital to get better. Just the stress of worrying about getting sick from co workers is not helping you.

I feel very safe at my hospital. We are all on precautions and I even ask the doctors and nurses to wear gloves, masks if they are sick and robes. They are very compliant. It helps a lot. I also now and again will call "Infectious Disease" department to see what they are doing about Cepacia in the hospital. I have had great luck and built a great relationship with the staff on the infectious disease dept.
I understand about how you feel about the fear of contracting these things but the hospital is still a much safer place than the work place. especially this time of year. Don't forget to use hand gel at work.
Rest rest rest. and I hope you can get this straightened out and it turn out in the way it's best for you.

Kelli, one question is what are your PFT's normally. I don't really look at a 3-5 percentage point fluctuation as anything to be too concerned about. Many different factors can cause a small change like that (eat too much? Sitting position, not enough rest, inflammation, etc). You can do PFTs a couple days in a row, and get quite different results from any small factor. I would try not to stress out about it too much.
