One more night oxygen question

Thank you to all those that helped me with my questions last week. I have started the oxygen at night, and you are all right. I have had sleep problems for years, the last 3 nights on oxygen I have slept like a baby. Wow - I wish I would have known this sooner. I feel like I even have more energy during the day.
My question now is what do you do to keep your sinuses moist? I feel like my nose is so dry it almost hurts. I have been trying to spray saline in before I go to sleep, but it doesn't do much once it dries up.
Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem. My CF nurse ordered me a humidifier to attach to the oxygen concentrator. I have only used it one night... so nothing much to report.

See if a humidifier is an option for you.

There is also a product called Ayr. It's a water based gel which is great for moisturizing your nose. Any pharmacy should have this and you can use it until you can get a humidifier for your concentrator.

I have used Ayr for years, it looks like a Q-tip with gel on the cotton end and wipe inside each nostril in the morning, do not go to far up basically towards the ends, I also have used my neti-pot with saline -I do not use my o2 with a humidifier, just my choice. Good luck it really makes a nice difference. Pat/CF -57

Ayr is wonderful stuff, also KY jelly without any fragrance or additives works well (plain KY), just make sure it is water soluble and not petroleum based. I use my O2 with a humidifier, if you do opt for this, make sure you use sterile water in it and change out the canister frequently to prevent bacterial growth in it. You should see a difference <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
