The Taurolin neb is a disinfectant wash used for the treatment of b cepacia, I don't think cepacia is sensitive to antibiotics this is meant to keep cepacia related infections at bay, only set back is that it tastes like your inhaling a cleaning product not very pleasant! And doubled the amount of nebs I take. My treatment for pseudomonas are the exact same as your husbands, I'm 27 and keep pretty well I never did an iv or hospital stay until I was 25 but made up for it for about a year with iv's every 6 weeks but haven't had to do them for about 7 months now. The Healthcare is generally quite good here when your diagnosed you get a long term illness book to cover all medication, but there is no transplant unit in Ireland and all transplant patients have to go abroad to England as I am not at that stage I don't know much about it but it is a serious issue here for cfers. We have a forum on www.cfireland.ie but this one is great cos there are so many more people posting. Am going to ask my doctor about Zithromax as so many of you are taking it. RM

Thanks for the info on Taurolin. I will tell my husband, he has an appointment this week at the CF clinic. He's 45. He's had great health until diagnosed 2 years ago with b. cepacia (and pseudonomas and stenotrophonomas - not sure if spelling everything okay.) He also takes oral bactrim everyday. Good luck to you!
