Oral Syringes

When I was trying to find different colored oral syringes a few weeks ago, I'd contacted Baxa, who referred me to healthcarelogistics.com. I was able to get amber oral syringes from a relative who owns a pharmacy; however, I still went ahead and ordered a catalog from healtcarelogistics.com.

I've also been having issues lately with DS's generic zithromax. The sandoz brand seems stickier than previous brands and I've ended up wasting medicine when trying to fill up an oral syringe. The generic adapta-cap lids were too small.

When I got the catalog, I noticed they had a WIDE variety of adapta-caps. So instead of sticking an oral syringe into the bottle or pouring some into a medicine cup, I could just stick the tip of the syringe into the end of the bottle -- almost like pulling insulin out of a bottle (our dog was diabetic). Anyway, I called the company and asked them to send me a sample of a larger adapta-cap. Not only did they send me one, but they sent me a template to measure the tops of medicine bottles and a huge selection of sizes, styles. Then yesterday, I received a package from Baxa with more and a bunch of different size & colored syringes. DS's been using the 60 ml as a squirt gun. Sigh!

I put an adapta-cap on the zithromax -- no more waste AND on the stinky, putrid aqua-adeks, so I don't have to gag anymore when I fill up the oral syringes.

Would've been GREAT to have these caps dispensers when DS was first diagnosed, but at the time it was like pulling teeth just to get a few extra oral syringes. Never dawned on me that companies even MADE different sized adapter caps.
