I was fine without enzymes for years, until a few bouts of pancreatitis, and now I have to take enzymes with greasy meals. The only ones that work for me are Viokase 18's, and I usually only take one a day, with my biggest meal (usually dinner) and a vitamin- 2 if it's a really greasy meal, and one with lunch/breakfast too if it's a big/greasy meal, etc.. I haven't had pancreatitis since. I am still mostly pancreatic sufficient, but I do need help with my vitamin levels and those greasy meals now. Weight is definitely not an issue for me right now, unless you count being overweight... .

My grandmother (no cf) also had chronic pancreatitis, and had to take enzymes. It really does sound like it's time for enzymes, IMHO, , but it will probably make you feel alot better (I'm kinda wondering why your doctors haven't tried a small dose of enzymes anyways, to help with the pancreatitis by taking a bit of the load off of your pancreas).

I also take Nexium once a day (before dinner), and I believe that has helped with my stomach aches and has definitely helped with my heartburn!

Good luck! Let us know how it goes.

Yeah! I agree-- enzyme issue. I get this every once in a while when I don't take my enzymes. I am having tummy issues today....I ate something that didn't agree with me.

I had to respond because my 5-yr old son had this a few months back and as far as I know he does not have cf. We finally think we linked it to him eating too many cashews. Have you eaten a lot of nuts lately? I really don't know if this is what it was but after researching it I did find several things stating excessive eating of cashews could cause the orange oil. I wrote it off as this because he was tested at 6wks for cf since I have it and it come back negative so I much rather think its too many cashews than cf problems. I have no idea, but just thought I would throw this out there. Ginger

I agree with everyone. It does sound like an enzyme problem.

When I haven't taken enough or forget them and have eaten something really fatty I get the same thing.
I remember when I had Tikka Massala at the airport in Edinbourgh, I took 5 instead of my usual 3 creon but still it was sooo bad the next day. I should have taken much more, given you could actually see the oil laying on top of the curry... eeewww
