I have a 23 year old daughter with CF.
Cassie and I recently wrote a song for from a CF adults point of view with ideas from her friends and her own experiences.
I thought some of you might like to hear it. So, here it is.

I wake up every morning just like you,
Go about the things I need to do
You might think that I’m okay, just like any other day
But you don’t know just what I’m going through
‘Cause I’ve got something lurking underneath
Deep inside where no one else can see
Lately, it just scares me half to death
It’s a matter of life and breath
People tell me don’t give up the fight, keep the faith, it will be alright
But it gets harder every day and I can’t seem to find a way
To help them see the story from my side
‘Cause I can’t face another call telling me some friend has lost it all
Makes me wonder how much time is left
It’s a matter of life and breath
Breathing out and breathing in
Shouldn’t be this hard and I can’t win
I hope someday that there will be no doubt
But until then my hour glass runs out
I wish that I could live my life like you
Not too much to ask but hard to do
Find a love to have and hold be with them til I grow old
But odds are, that’s not what I gonna do
I pray a miracle will save us all
But until then how many more will fall
Lately, it just scares me half to death
