Hi, I just wanted to let you know that I e-mailed my husband at work and asked him if he knew of anything that could be done - he's an Admin Officer and deals with a lot of legal issues at the command he's at right now, and this is what he wrote back to me:
This girl, Jessi, needs to get documentation from both her and her
daughter's doctors, stating the seriousness of their situation and the
potential for increased health problems for both the mother and child
without immediate assistance from her spouse. Unfortunately, this could
result in the Army discharging the member under the basis for hardship
separation if their laws are similar to the Navy's. I feel bad for her
and her daughter as well the Soldier that can't be home to provide
support and comfort. I hope they have some family that might be able to
intervene if they're unsuccessful in their attempt to get him home. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">
I hope it helps out in some way..it's hard dealing with stuff like that when they're gone...my daughter was dx'd with CF when she was two, and my husband was on a six month cruise at the time - that was hard!
