Hill Rom just left a voicemail stating my insurance will only give them $2500 a year to rent my vest. Another supplier charges my insurance $24 per month for my nebulizer but I can buy the same model online for $40. I wonder how greedy Hill Rom is trying to be with my vest.
The mechanical concept is simple. It's an oscillating pump with a pressure regulator. How much could that thing possibly cost to make, market, and distribute?
Here's the question: Does anyone else make or market a similar device I can threaten Hill Rom with switching to?
Have I mentioned lately how badly I hate insurance, medical supply, and pharmaceutical companies? They're right up there with tow truck drivers.
I've considered taking it apart and posting instructions and pictures so people can make their own. That's how pissed I am at these people.
