Oxygen systems

I am just starting on O2 and would like a system that still allows me to travel and exercise. I am looking at portable concentrators although I don't think insurance will pay, the Helios liquid oxygen systems, and regular tanks of compressed O2.

The Helios system appears to look pretty good, but refilling the portable unit while away from the main reservoir seems impractical.

What are you using for 1-2 week vacations?

A good oxygen company will provide you with a travel concentrator like the airsep or others that are FAA approved for flights. they should provide it at no cost to you. I had to shop around to find a company that did this; but, it was well worth looking. I just reserve it when I go on vacation and it goes with me for nights or any other use. They are about 200 a week to rent if you have to actually rent one. You can not take something that is not FAA approved on a flight.

It is simple marketing and no I have never seen them bill my insurance for this courtesy. Do they charge a bit more for other services to make up that cost....maybe. I think it is unrealistic for an O2 company to expect that their oxygen customers won't want to have some way to travel for medical appointments or other reasons. It is just MHO that a good company should have a way for people to travel with oxygen whether they have to bill your insurance or offer it as a courtesy.
