pain in side-Updated

I went in for PFTs a couple of weeks ago. Just the next day, I noticed that I could feel a wheezing or rubbing? kind of sensation in my lower left lobe and also had a pain in the same area, but towards my back. It really hurts to sigh, breathe deeply, etc.

Just a day or 2 after that, the pain moves slightly more towards my side and still hurts when I breathe deeply or sigh or cough, etc. The wheezing? movement is not constant now. The pain is similar to that pain I would get as a kid when I had ran too far...remember when your side hurt? Kinda weird.

I initially went to the doctor & they did a chest xray and didn't see anything.

My question is, does anyone have any words of experience or theories on what it could be?

Do you know what kind of conditions may not show up on xrays?? Thanks<img src="">

Plurisy (sp?) its where your lungs gget inflammed and rub along the ribs. I get it really bad on my lower right.

Try taking some IBProphen and use a heating pad....mine normally signals infection so you may want to add an extra treatment in for the next few days.

It may be rare, but cracked ribs often will not show up on a Chest X-Ray, but will show up on a CT. You should probably have a high resolution Chest CT every so often anyways to evaluate for bronchiectasis. You could also have a pulled rib muscle. If they can't figure anything out, something is obviously wrong, and a CT may be the way to go.
